These giant air filled balloons are spectacular in person. They fill up the sky, float silently, and slowly disappear into the clouds as if they were a vivid dream. Up close they are complicated machines that require patience, knowledge and an FAA license. The initial experience when the balloon first rises is exhilarating, energizing each nerve ending to the fullest. Looking at other balloons from the air brings on a feeling of ethereal bliss. There are endless clouds floating on blue skies. This acrylic on canvas was fun to paint and remains one of my favorites.
