Escape

 I wanted to create the emotion of someone in inner turmoil without showing histrionic behavior. She is sullen, contemplative but also ready to lose control. The idea of escaping into another reality to loosen the stranglehold of her undefined predicament interests me.

I left the table surface as both solid and transparent just like the subject.  There is something more in her expression than she’s telling us – hidden yet, in plain view.  We don’t know er dilemma, but we know e wants to escape from this reality.  The bottle are spirits; and genie for a wish and alcohol to forget.
