Parrots have always fascinated me, particularly because of their domesticity. They are colorful, of course, but also very intelligent. I’ve had parakeets, doves and an African Grey parrot over the years. I wanted to put some color into the painting so I added a bit of the Fauve colors to blend in with the vibrant avian group of birds set in a tropical jungle off the beaten track and away from civilization.
