The Party

When I first walked into the room that was starting to fill up with strangers, I couldn’t help but feel transformed into another time and place. It was Downtown LA on Main Street in a loft overlooking the middle of the city. The high windows and ceiling provided a refreshing backdrop to the sound of chatter amongst the partygoers. I took a quick photo with my camera just to remember the scene. Months later when I came across it again, I discovered that is was blurry, out of focus and very dark. I tried some adjustments and decided that I need to make changes on canvas. So this is the result – an impression of a cocktail party DTLA
