The image of the horse appeared as I was laying down the colors. Surprisingly, this work began as a harbor scene with boats but it started to change the more I worked at it. The galloping horse emerged from what seems to many people, chaos, but for me it was quite natural. I’ve had an affinity for horses my entire life. When I was about 4 or 5 we had a CW Russel print of an Arizona mesa scene with a cattle drive and lots of horses. I studied the image for hours trying to figure out how it was done. I still don’t know, but I keep at it.
